Induction to Nursery
We recommend that all children taking up a place at the nursery spend some time in our Opportunity Group, prior to admission. This gives them an excellent chance to become familiar with the nursery building and staff, and enables us to build up a relationship with the family.

On a child’s first day at nursery, we normally suggest that he/she stays for just one hour. We usually find it helps the child to settle well if the time is gradually built up, at a pace that suits both the child and the parent.

Long-Term Plans
The work of Charnwood is constantly expanding and changing in response to the needs of the community. In the light of ever increasing demand for places in the nursery we are looking at ways to increase the space available for nursery activities and we are in the process of extending our building in a phased manner. The additional space we create will also enable us to house our administration team and Family Worker in more approapriate settings.

Resources are constantly being renewed and updated to ensure that all our children’s needs are met and that they receive the highest quality of care and education possible.
